Teeing Off for a Good Cause: Our Annual Golf Day at Kansanshi
Last week, our IFS team travelled to Kansanshi Mine in Zambia for our Annual Golf Day, an event that has become one of the highlights of our calendar. What started years ago as a simple thank-you to our clients and partners has grown into something much bigger: a day that brings together the people who make our business what it is, for a shared afternoon of golf, connection and community.
A Day Built on Partnership
This year's event welcomed more than 80 attendees, including clients, partners, suppliers and friends of IFS, all coming together at one of Zambia's most iconic courses. None of it would have been possible without Kansanshi, whose continued support and partnership have helped shape this event into what it is today. Their team went above and beyond to make sure the day ran smoothly, from the course itself to the warm hospitality that greeted every guest.
The golf, as always, was only part of the story. Between rounds, there was plenty of time for conversation, a few laughs, and the kind of relationship-building that simply doesn't happen over email or video calls. Whether it was catching up with long-standing partners or meeting new faces for the first time, the day reinforced something we believe strongly at IFS: our business is built on people, and days like this are where those relationships grow.
Giving Back to the Next Generation
If there was one moment that captured the spirit of the day, it was the prize-giving ceremony. Alongside recognising some excellent performances on the course, we were proud to donate a set of golf clubs to the Kansanshi Junior Golf Academy.
Supporting young talent and investing in the communities where we operate is something we care about deeply. Golf can be an expensive sport to break into, and initiatives like the Junior Golf Academy exist to change that, giving young players in the local community the tools and opportunity to develop their skills. Being able to contribute to that mission, even in a small way, made the day feel like more than just a corporate outing.
Looking Ahead
To everyone who joined us on the course, to Kansanshi Golf Club for their hospitality, and to the IFS team who worked behind the scenes to bring the day together, thank you. Events like this remind us why we do what we do: not just to do business, but to build genuine, lasting relationships with the people and communities around us.
We're already looking forward to making next year's golf day even bigger and better. Until then, thank you to everyone who made this year one to remember.
