Training Officer

Purpose of the Role:
The Training Officer is responsible for coordinating, administering, and supporting the delivery of all learning and development activities across multiple remote project sites in Sub-Saharan Africa. This includes maintaining training records, ensuring compliance with country-specific legislative requirements, supporting onboarding, coordinating operational and safety training, and ensuring data accuracy to enable workforce capability across catering and facilities services operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Learning Administration
Coordinate logistics for all training (scheduling, enrolment, venues, travel, facilitator coordination).
Maintain accurate learning records, attendance registers, assessments, and certificates.
Consolidate monthly training trackers and ensure data accuracy.
Support onboarding and induction programmes.
Maintain and distribute SOPs and training materials.
Maintain centralised annual training calendars.
Learning Compliance & Governance
Ensure compliance with SETA, QCTO, and local labour legislation across Sub-Saharan Africa.
Support WSP/ATR submissions and country-specific requirements.
Maintain audit-ready documentation.
Reporting & Analytics
Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual training reports.
Track participation, completion, and assessment data.
Maintain dashboards for KPIs and compliance.
System & Tracker Management
Maintain digital and manual training trackers.
Ensure data accuracy in LMS, HRIS, and Excel systems.
Skills Planning & Development
Facilitate annual Training Needs Analysis (TNA).
Maintain Skills Matrix and competency records.
Learning Impact & ROI
Evaluate training effectiveness and ROI.
Training Interventions Coordination
Coordinate legal and compliance training.
Manage SOP/SWP/PTO training and QCTO programme tracking.
Talent Pipeline Support
Support bursary, internship, and apprentice programmes.
Teamwork & Self-Management
Demonstrate accountability, proactive communication, and teamwork.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
Diploma/Degree in HR, Training, Education, or related field.
ODETDP/ETDP certification advantageous.
3+ years training coordination experience.
Experience in mass catering or mining advantageous.
Ability to travel across Sub-Saharan Africa.
