Sourcing Manager

IFS Support Office – Umhlanga

Purpose of the Role:

  • To develop and institutionalise a 1-3 year sourcing and vendor management strategy for both operational and capex procurement.

  • To set up sourcing agreements for all operational and capex stock.

  • To ensure market competitiveness between suppliers.

  • To manage contract adherence and tender processes.

  • To drive sustainability, SHREQ and BEEE objectives across the supplier base.

  • To manage supplier reliability to the point of IFS warehouse or site delivery.

  • To drive increased contract coverage and spend across the Group and across the categories.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sourcing and Vendor Management Strategy Development

  • Sourcing Agreements Setup: Set up a company standard sourcing agreement, with common logistics and financial terms, Ensuring majority of operational sourcing is achieved through suppliers with sourcing agreements.

  • Drive the analysis of in-country industry trends and evolving technology to proactively identify supply base issues to minimize risk, protect continuity of supply and exploit emerging opportunities that benefit the Group.

  • Ensure tenders and contracts are legally compliant, accurately articulate the needs of the Group and protect business interests.

  • Information and Data Management and Reporting

  • HSEQ and Sustainability Management

  • Drive sustainability, risk, and compliance and BBBEE objectives.

  • Drive the management of external supplier relationships and contracts in collaboration with the regional and national management teams to ensure agreed service levels are met.

  • Lead and develop staff within the context of the Labour Relations Act, Employment Equity Act, Basic Conditions of Employment Act and the Skills Development Act.

Required Knowledge and Qualifications:

  • Degree in commerce, management, supply chain management or a related field.

  • Minimum of 8 years’ progressive experience within a sourcing or purchasing and commercial management environment.

  • Demonstrated success in developing and fostering relationships with suppliers while driving lower costs, superior performance and continuous improvement.

  • Purchasing experience within an FMCG environment would be recommended.

  • Valid Code EB drivers' licence.

  • Willing to travel .
