Project Description

NAMIBIA DEVELOPMENT TRUST

Objectives

The main object of the Development Trust is to promote and advance people in local, disadvantaged and underprivileged communities in which IFS conducts business in order for the communities to directly benefit from the business of IFS.

The Development Trust is a shareholder in Atlantic Food Services (AFS), Atlantic Catering Solutions (ACS), and International Facility Services Operations (IFS Ops). The growth of these three companies plays a vital role in the survival of the Development Trust.

Community Development

The Development Trust shall promote community development including, but not limited to, the provision of the following at the discretion of the Trustees:

  • Kitchens
  • Schools
  • Training Facilities
  • Education
  • Business Opportunities
  • Scholarships
  • Clinics
  • Food Distribution
  • Portable Water
  • Sport

IFS aims to achieve the afore-mentioned through the Fund being held, managed, administered and controlled by the Trustees, in such a manner that the Trust Incomes and Benefits shall be available, from time to time, for vesting (on a temporary or permanent basis) in one or more beneficiary.

Sport

At a community level, sport can be seen to provide a useful way of creating an environment in which people can come together to work towards the same goal, show respect for others and share space and equipment.

With soccer being the most popular sport in the world, the Development Trust has seen a huge benefit in teaming up with the Namibian Football Association in sponsoring three provincial leagues, Omaheke, Oshana and Omusati. Together we can unite fans and bring joy to all supporters. It’s the national religion. Transcending race, politics or language group, sport unites the country.
